Hey Guys, I've had this Honda for a year and change, bought new from the dealer. Got a good deal since it was last in a box and the 420cc came out. Being the new 420 was in experiment fuel injection stage we decided to go with the carburated engine.

We live in Baytown, TX on Galveston / Trinity Bay close to the freaking hurricane and went out to the garage (stored there for about two months) topped off the fuel and I went screaming down the road for a block or two and then she started bogging down to die in the middle of the street never to be started again. Gas in on, switch in own, rebooted the ES thru all gears, choked and pushed the dog back home uphill.

I've took the battery down about four times as I pushed the PRIMER button on the carb and almost got an idle start, choke doesn't do the job the primer does for me, but never got it running. I put a new plug in, check the fire, spark and fire a.ok. Now the charging over and over again must have burnt up the ignition relay, it just buzzes now. I'll get another on of those Tuesday if were still above water. In the past the corn they put in our gas down here turns to gum. We understand that and start it every few weeks and let it run. We also turn off the gas and let it die to clear the gas.

Still today we have a great little machine, but it's not getting gas. I've gone thru my books and can't find a FUEL filter that I may clean myself.

Could one of you enlighten me on a maybe problem that I could do to troubleshoot and repair during this wet weather coming our way. BTW, I hammered the carb a bit hoping to losen a float.

Thanks for any help and thanks for the forum we have book marked.

Steve

We have a three year warrenty. I'm not sure if it covers electrical or carbs. If my wife can find it I'll look it over, but not sure I can take that puppy out and get it back together. I'm not that good and may have parts leftover.

Thanks though, Steve

Do you know if this machine has a GAS filter and a micro-fiche of where it is?

Im sorry to ask if a Honda ATV has a fuel filter. I didn't realize no one on this forum knows if any ATV has a fuel filter. I'm headed to Honda and find out myself and when I return I'll educate you. I'll also steer you to another forum that does monitor and has qualified people that do know just about everthing about these machines we like so much. Cool

Sorry jackel but this site sux Laughing

it does have a filter, where it is difers on the unit, most are in line after the tank and ahead of the carb if you dont know what it looks like you wont find it most are not serviceable you just replace it. they are not a warranty item
