polaris 500 xplorer wont start

i recently purchased a 1997 xplorer it had magnet fall out of the fly wheel and broke stator i replaced flywheel and the stator has spark gets gas on the plug and still wont start help please its driving me crazy i also took it to a mechanic he checked compression and he said it only had 100lbs so he recomended new rings so i replaced rings and had cylinder honed still the same the only thing i get is aback fire through the carb
