I have a 1985 yamaha 80cc moto4 that I just put a brand new carb on. It runs good for about 3 to 4 minutes (while driving) then stops like it runs out of gas. If I choke it it starts back up and runs good for 3 to 4 minutes. If it's just sitting and running it runs fine. I've checked the fuel tank, line and filter for obstructions and they are clear. Got any sugestions?

You need to check your float and the float needle to make sure they are moving without sticking. It sounds like you are using the fuel in the carb before it can fill it back up. Sometimes the needle is not opening the fuel passage completely so it is not able to keep the bowl full of fuel. Usually there is a tab on the float that pushes the needle in and out of the needle seat, you may need to bend the tab down a little to let he needle open all the way.

it may also be that your carb is pulling a vacum on your gas tank. check to see if your gas tank cap allowes air into the tank. if you have a little hose from the top of your lid, it may be that if is stopped up.
