ds 650 runs half power

i hav a ds 650 and it acts like it only has half power i think a polaris trail blazer would keep up. its an 03 so its not fuel injected im just not sure where to start both spark plugs seem to get good blue spark. it doesnt want to go past 5 to 6000 rpms

did it run fine befor? have you adjusted the carb? compression good? need more info. check the coil wire at the plug, they get lose and cut out on top, but if it is reving slow everywhere. and flat on top , might want top check cam's/ chain, valve shim's
