New to forum, so if a post already exists on this topic let me know:
Have a 03 660 raptor and when I try to start it the starter relay buzzes. I tried charging the battery, and I get some turn over on the motor but it goes back to the relay buzzing. I tried jumping the battery and get some turn over but then the loud buzzing again. Could it be the battery or a combination?
Thanks

It could be several different things that can cause the problem you are having. You need to get a volt meter and do a few test. Put your volt meter on the battery when it is fully charged and try to start the atv. If the battery is bad your voltage will drop below 10.5 vdc. If the battery voltage does not drop below 10.5 vdc I would next see how many volts your are getting to the starter solenoid. Should be the same as the battery or very slightly under. If you are getting battery voltage to the solenoid next hit the start button and see how far the voltage drops. It should not drop below 10.5vdc . If the voltage does not drop below 10.5vdc see what the voltage is thru the solenoid. Put your meter on the post that has the cable running to the starter and see what the voltage is. Should be above 10.5vdc. If it drops below 10.5vdc, to narrow it down between the starter and the solenoid, jump the post on the solenoid to give direct battery power to the starter, If the starter engages then you know it is the solenoid. The only other thing that I can think could cause this problem would be the starter button has too much resistence thru it, Isolate the starter button wires and do the voltage drop test thru the switch. You can also do a resistence check thru the switch. You should have no more than 0.2 ohms resistence thru any switch or connector. Good luck.
