1995 with approx 2500 miles on it, good shape, and runs very well.

two problems with the ignition system,

1. when starting off the electric starter, it will not spark or fire, until you release the starter crank button, so if you were to hold it down and keep cranking, it would not start, the minute you let up on the switch, it fires and runs fine.

2. spark plugs last only 5-10 hours max, then they short and begin to cross fire, the insulator around the plug tip cracks, still runs, but runs like crap. i have double checked for the correct plug with the dealer, but when i ask for advice they just want me to bring it in.

appreciate the advice,

Dan

my advice on the starter is that the brushes on the inside need to be replaced. Take it (the starter) to a dealer. Or buy a new one. no, the starter is working fine, the engine turns over great... just does not 'kick', until you let up on the starter button, then it will fire.

it will turn the engine over until the battery dies, but the ignition does not spark until you let up on the starter crank button.
