I have a 2001 350 TRX Honda 4x4 that make a sound of something mechanical spinning after the engine is shut down. This does not happen every time but it seems that it is more frequent than not. The noise lasts for about 5 to 10 seconds and is definately something spinning in the front of the engine, it winds down and then clunks as it stops. Could this be the oil pump rotating? It just started happening and I am hoping someone could help me diagnose the problem before I dig into it.

| is it water cooled if so the impeler could be loose on the shaft or it may be your radiator fan |

It is oil cooled, I checked the fan and that is not it. I am thinking maybe it is the clutch, there is an adjustment screw on the front that I am going to try.

| could be gears spinning as the engine stops. happens on a cycle. |
