polaris sportsman 2002 400 backfiring and sputtering

my sportsman is sputtering and back firing,ive checked and cleaned the carb,filters and spark plug are all new,she got lots of power on the level as soon as the strain comes on her in forward the engine starts sputtering,but in reverse she got lots of power,dont know what elese to check.[/quote]

Did you ever find the problem? I have the same machine doing the same thing. Idles and midrange are great, over that it sputters like it sounds when in reverse.
